We are two moms who have been friends for many years now and always said we should start something together. Well after a bit of time, years really, we made it a reality. Leigh and I both love to design and organize. We have been helping friends decorate and organize for years. We have grown our business exclusively by word of mouth and referrals; yet it is time to reach out to more people. Designing and organizing makes us happy and we strongly believe happiness is contagious.

Both of us are down to earth and understand that our spaces are meant to be lived in. Yet compromising on design is not an option. We find solutions that work with design and organization.

Now we want to share a bit about ourselves.

Melody

Hello, I’m Melody, one of the founders of Melleigh Design. Originally from Madagascar, I moved to the U.S. at 18. After living in California for several years, I found my home in Charlotte, North Carolina, in 2017. Since then, I’ve fallen in love with the Queen City. Along with my husband, our two children, and two dogs, we’ve embraced everything this vibrant community has to offer.

Design has always been my passion, and my travels around the world have had a big influence on my style. I believe a space should not only be beautiful but also functional, reflecting the personality and needs of those who live in it. Whether it’s creating a cozy living room, a productive home office, or a welcoming kitchen, I’m dedicated to ensuring that each space serves a purpose while looking and feeling great.

I started Melleigh Design because I’ve always enjoyed transforming spaces—whether through upcycling furniture, rearranging layouts, or adding thoughtful decor. I love working with my hands and bringing my design visions to life.

I’m passionate about making design simple and accessible. I want to help you reimagine your space in a way that’s functional, beautiful, and easy to maintain. Originally, from Baltimore, MD, I have called Charlotte home for the past 7 years.  My husband and I live here with our three children, and our one year old schnauzer. I have a deep appreciation for creating spaces that feel both welcoming and personal. My passion lies in transforming houses into homes, with a particular love for adding warmth and charm through holiday design. Whether it’s through cozy accents or thoughtful details, I believe every space should reflect the unique stories and personalities of its inhabitants. In my free time, you’ll find me exploring art galleries, traveling with my family, indulging in a good book, or experimenting with new recipes in the kitchen.
